The oxygen-enriched air separation technology has more obvious advantages in industries such as iron and steel, non-ferrous smelting, environmental protection, papermaking, and emerging biomass power generation and oxygen-rich power generation. Compared with the traditional cryogenic air separation process, the oxygen-enriched combustion air separation system has the characteristics of large oxygen demand, low pressure, and low oxygen purity. Therefore, developing a new type of low energy consumption air separation process with high efficiency, energy saving and high added value has become a new hot spot in the air separation industry.

 

Chinllenge Gas Group and Xi'an Jiaotong University's School of Energy recently conducted an IARIndustry-Academia-Research) cooperation on low-energy-consumption air separation technology, and exchanged analysis on oxygen purity, pressure, process form, and energy consumption level of low-energy-consumption air separation.

 

I. General Process

 

The rectification column of the conventional process is composed of a condensing evaporator between a lower column, an upper column, and an upper and lower column. In order to ensure the heat transfer temperature difference between the gas nitrogen at the top of the lower tower and the liquid oxygen at the bottom of the upper tower in the condensing evaporator, the air compressor must compress the entire air to 0.5 ~ 0.6 MPa. Therefore, the energy consumption of the traditional double tower process is high, but The parts are relatively few, and double-height products can be made at the same time, so the application is more common.

 

Second, low energy consumption process

After the air is compressed and purified, the process air exiting the purification system is divided into several paths, and rectification and coupling are performed in each section.

After technical exchanges with Xi'an Jiaotong University and Aspen process simulation, the characteristics of the low energy consumption air separation process are calculated as follows:

1. Low energy consumption air separation process has more than 10% lower energy consumption than traditional air separation process under the same conditions;

2. Low energy consumption air separation process can take into account the production of pure oxygen products.
